Lessons:
Alex Carter offers beginner to early-intermediate lessons in guitar, piano, and songwriting.
His teaching approach is practical and song-focused, designed to help students build confidence, play real music, and enjoy the process without getting overwhelmed by heavy theory.
Lessons focus on chords, rhythm, basic lead playing, and songwriting fundamentals, using songs the student loves as the main learning tool. Alex creates a relaxed, encouraging environment where students can progress at their own pace and leave each lesson feeling motivated and inspired.
In-person lessons are available in Vancouver, with virtual lessons also offered via Zoom for students who prefer to learn remotely or are located elsewhere.
How Lessons Work:

- We book a trial lesson
- Ongoing lessons are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly
Lesson rate: $45 for a 45-minute private lesson
In-person (Vancouver) or online via Zoom
24 hours notice required to reschedule. Late cancellations may be charged.
Performances:
Alex Carter offers solo acoustic performances that are warm, dynamic, and song-driven.
Combining expressive vocals with acoustic guitar, Alex performs familiar songs alongside unique interpretations, creating an easygoing yet engaging live experience.
Ideal for cafés, bars, and small events, each set is adapted to fit the room and the audience.
